VOCES EN ACCIÓN

Voces en Acción is an experimental art conceptualization and production workshop led by Donna Conlon and Jonathan Harker that has been held annually since 2018. We emphasize constructive criticism, experimentation, mutual support, collaboration - and above all - the crucial value of singular and unique expression of each artist on issues of social, political, environmental and personal urgency, in combination with the essential importance in art of finding and expressing one's own and authentic voice.

“You don't take pictures because you have a camera. You take pictures because you have eyes and because you have something to say.” -Robert Frank

Voces en Acción is an experimental art conceptualization and production workshop led by Donna Conlon and Jonathan Harker that takes place annually for 8 weeks since 2018. Creating a space for connection between people working in different creative media, it fosters an environment of open dialogue and criticism. constructive in which each participant finds conceptual and formal mechanisms that help them develop their own voice that is consistent and in tune with the problems of their context and community.

Its first edition took place within the framework of the video exhibition Drifting Voice - a piece by the duo Conlon and Harker that was premiering at that time at the Cultural Center of Spain - and the conduct of the workshop was the alphabet by Gilles Deleuze. In its second edition Faith to failure:* raids and experiments in the fortuitous accident sought to vindicate the value of shipwreck and drift in the journey of exploration and learning that is the creative process. Its third edition, Creating in Times of Crisis, focused on questioning and promoting creative ideas and practices, taking into account the growing political, social and environmental emergencies that threaten us. Its fourth edition, Voces en Video, focused on video art in all its forms and varieties and its fifth edition, Voices in Collaboration
